Green Under My Acrylic Nail
What causes green spots under acrylic nails.
Green under my acrylic nail. The green discoloration is classic for a Pseudomonas Bacterial Infection of the nail plate. Once the nail gets infected the fungus thrives as the fake nails offer a perfect place for them to thrive a warm moist and dark atmosphere. The green discoloration varies from blue-green to dark green to bluish-grey.
The condition is usually confined to one or two nails and can involve fingernails or toenails. It should clear up fairly soon. The green color is a stain and will remain until the nail has grown out though most likely the bacteria is no longer active once exp.
Although this green discoloration may have the appearance of a mold this is NOT a mold. I just removed the acrylics from the affected nails and the nail tech treated them with something similar to what you used. Ive had this a few times myself.
Now the nail fungal infection may go unnoticed for a long time under acrylic nails as it hides there. This green stain on the nail plate is actually Pseudomonas bacterial infection. A fungal infection can take hold when an acrylic nail is left in place too longsuch as three months or moreand moisture accumulates under the nail.
As a nail technician our training tells us that the best thing to do is remove the nail and let it grow off. Why is there green under my acrylic nail. Most likely cause by water getting under the acrylics that had lifted.

Always wash your hands with soap and water Use rubbing alcohol on your nails before applying an acrylic nail Disinfect any tools you use in and around your nail Ensure a correct fit over your nail bed its a common mistake. Since the discoloration is underneath the nail it will not disappear with washing or scrubbing.
